Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) is an analytical technique used to identify and characterize organic materials by generating a spectrum that reflects molecular vibrations. It can also detect a variety of inorganic compounds and measure interstitial oxygen content in bulk silicon used in semiconductors.


The most common applications of FTIR include the identification of organic contaminants and the characterization of organic materials.
